How Can a Swollen Bump On The Toe Be Treated?

this morning after I put on my boots I felt something odd in the top of my right foot right behind the big toe. I thought it was the inside of my boot and I felt the twinge throughout the day. I was busy so did not pay attention. when I took my boot off this evening I have a swollen bump in the same area and when I try to flatten my foot it is painful and difficult to walk. the bump is soft tissue and can be manipulated. any ideas what has occurred?

Hello,

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to local trauma or a local infection.

I recommend using an ice pack and an antibiotic ointment. Ibuprofen can help reduce the pain and inflammation. If this bump persists, I recommend consulting with your GP for a physical exam.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
